The Official City of Lompoc Website
Have you visited the official City of Lompoc website, lately? If you think that all you'll find there are cold, hard facts about the inner workings of city government, think again! Webmaster, Richard Gracyk and others have invested a lot of time and thought to make this one fun, informative website. Think of it as your online Lompoc resource center, open 24/7.
The website project began about three years ago in the city's Geographic Information Systems division. The site has continued to evolve since then, as people developed more ideas for its use.
All the facts are there, to be sure. You'll find contact information for city council members and other city employees, listings and explanations of local commissions, committees and boards, environmental notices, demographic statistics, even the text of the Ralph M.Brown Act, which governs meetings for local government bodies.
But you'll find lighter offerings as well. There's a quick-loading map of the city (zoom in to see streets, blocks, parks, schools and public buildings), old photos of Lompoc, a brief history of the city, current job openings, COLT (City of Lompoc Transit) route and fare information, even a kids' section with a word search game that incorporates Lompoc-related names and words, like "DeWees" and "Holmdahl."
Current projects include downloadable Council Agenda items and on-line job applications and interest cards.
So, check it out for work, or check it out for play at http://www.ci.lompoc.ca.us/. The City of Lompoc Website awaits your visit.
