The Lompoc Online Review
By Bonny Shilton
CraftPlanet.com
Are you a crafter, hobbyist or artist, looking for inspiration, supply sources or interaction with other creative folks? Then, CraftPlanet.com is the place for you!

Brainchild of Lompoc local, Deborah "Web Deb" Sweigart, Craft Planet is an online resource for tradeshow news, industry trends, craft manufacturer contact information, new projects from top-name designers, chat and bulletin board options and more.

Craft Planet is divided into the five sections, which Deb and her team think of as a natural progression of content:
1. Information - Feature columns with titles like Creativity Without Chaos and I Craft Therefore I Am.
2. Inspiration - Designer tips and success stories.
3. Creation - Craft projects!
4. Conversation - Chat message boards and monthly columns, including Deb's.
5. Celebration - Crafter showcase pages.

Web Deb's upbeat attitude shines through the pages of her site. She worked for the television show, Aleene's Creative Living for over five years and created and managed Aleene's successful website. Deb's background is in fine arts, as well as crafts. She's even had several oil paintings published as limited edition lithos.

Deb first came to Lompoc in 1974 when her, then, husband was stationed at Vandenberg. She loved the town and eventually moved back.

Her website is abuzz with visitors - it had over 80,000 page views last month alone!

"But," she says, "we're always looking for fresh ideas, projects and news, so if any crafter out there would like to contribute, please do! (We are) happy to give exposure, or a free page, to an up-and-coming crafter, artist or writer."
