While
we’re on the subject of names... (Lompocan / Lompocian
/ Lomputian) why not just CHANGE the name? I vote for La Purisima.
3 reasons:
1)
Spanish names from our Old California heritage dominate along
the central coast;
2)
It points to the most prominent cultural icon out of our past
– the La Purisima Mission;
3)
It is a marketing coup that gives us a beautiful name while
ridding us of references to prisons and W.C. Fields. Just a
thought…
