Seeking Relatives:
Lisa Appling writes:
I recently moved back to California, after a long time. My grandmother was
born in Lompoc and I know that I have to have family there. I was
wondering if you could publish this so that maybe I could locate some relatives. My
grandmother's name was Victoria (Bacerra) Saldana -- Bacerra being her maiden
name of course. Her children's names are: Junior, Patsy, Linda, Sheila,
Sammy, Jimmy and Mary. If any family is reading this please respond, I would
very much like to meet you.

From Don Pond:
I was going to make a page for Lompoc businesses that have web sites. I am in the
process of doing several pages for various businesses right now. I also had envisioned doing
much the same as you. General information about Lompoc. I see that I do not need to do this!
What do you think about having a page on your site for businesses and people with web pages
that live in Lompoc?
Dear Don,
What a great idea! I hope the LINK-LOMPOC DIRECTORY will fill this niche.
From Greg Martinez:
Hi I just thought I'd drop a messege. I grew up in lompoc, and I thought Id try to reach some old friends I grew up with, Threw the net. I miss living there though it was a small town. I used to skateboard a lot on h-street and hang out with friends too much, so my mom sent me to live with my dad in texas. Its been eight years since Iv been there. I plan to go back and see how much the city has changed.

Lompoc Memories
from Deanna (Reddekopp) Hernandez
Thank you for your Lompoc Web site! I lived in Lompoc from 1962 until 1974 (my childhood years) and will always consider it as my "home town". My parents moved myself and four siblings down from Oregon so that my Dad could live in a "drier" climate for health reasons. They purchased a house in Mission Hills in the lower tract, only a half block from Los Berros Elementary school, when those homes were brand new. I remember growing up there so vividly. There were fires every summer and we would have to hose down our roof to protect our house from flying ashes.
We would sometimes hike or bike to nearby La Purisima Mission and picnic after taking the tour. Do you know the ghost story about the cross there? We must have told it 100 times!
I learned to play the accordian in Lompoc. I can't remember my teacher's name, although her image is still vivid. She was very strict but I learned well. I also remember the missile launches. They definitely make the Lompoc area unique!
I now live in the desert southwest on the Colorado River. I often think of Lompoc and will visit again someday. Again, thank you for your web-page.
