Visitor to Lompoc Ponders Tragedy at Honda Point
Chuck Kemp from Kent, WA visited our town recently and was so moved by what he learned about the Honda Point disaster (1923) that he wrote us to find more information (see guestbook). A search turned up a website which has an astonishing overhead shot of the grounded destroyers.
Of this photo, Cari of SB County writes,"(I) was stunned by the Honda Point photograph. Have lived here 27 years and never saw a pic like that one. Really brings it to life! I'm so glad I
checked in while the link and your article were on the front page!"
Meanwhile, Chuck will let us know if he finds more interesting links about the Court Martial after the incident. More sites to check out: Disaster at Honda Point and VAFB's Naval Tragedy at Honda Point.

Check out their website to find out how to contact local, state and national officials, get information on the annual Charity Golf Tournament, check out the Community Partners page and visit their 1999 Hall of Fame!
