Warm Thoughts Of Lompoc:
by R. Blaine Miller
I love Lompoc. I lived there a few years ago. I have been visiting regularly over the past several years
and it has grown. But the peace, tranquility, and serenity of the area
have only deepened.
And I think it must come from the people who manage
to make it their home. That too has not changed one wit. The people are
the warmest, friendliest, and most easy going I have ever met. Is it any wonder I come there to recharge my batteries?
Camping Around Lompoc?
Blaine also asks:
Is there anywhere (around Lompoc) I can set up my tent and camp for a couple of days? I don't need fancy accomodations or
anything, just a place to sleep and washup. Perhaps out towards Ocean?
I'd prefer NOT to go to one of the State places like Refugio or Nahoqi.
Too far away and too crowded. I'm looking for someplace close with access to Surf and the area towards
Pine Canyon. Thanks!
Response from Scott and Divina Johnston:
Howdy!
There's always Jalama Beach just south of Lompoc. You can camp right on the
beach there. There are also camping facilities at River Park on the south
eastern edge of town. Not sure what kind of facilities are available for
washing up, though.
Response from Janrn1910@aol.com:
Showers are available at River Park. A nice place to camp.

Brushes and Blues
by Judy Stevens

local musical groups will be performing on stage, as well theater demonstrations, face painting and story-telling for children. Wine
tastings will be provided by Morovino, Cottonwood Canyon, and Close Pepe Wineries. There will be a delicious BBQ and other
food available.
