First, A Little History...
Originally owned by Andrew Huyck, The 1890 House is now lovingly owned by Barbara and Chuck Arnold, who bought the Queen Anne Style Victorian home in 1989. And they've been working on it ever since!

Chuck and Barbara decided to settle in this area after Chuck retired from the Air Force. They first bought a home in Santa Maria. Sometime after that, they came upon the 1890 house, which was for sale. It was in disrepair and the city of Lompoc had plans to tear it down. The Arnolds saw its potential, however, and bought it in 1989.
They worked on it for a full year -- and, according to Barbara, it needed a lot of work -- before they were able to move in. Chuck built book shelves in the library. The couple painted the outside of the house themselves with help of family and friends and carefully restored the inside room by room.
The house is now designated as a historic landmark. After years of blood, sweat, and perhaps a few tears, The 1890 House is now completely renovated and serving well as a Bed and Breakfast.
Guests often hear of the bed and breakfast by calling the Lompoc Chamber of Commerce.
You can also reserve the 1890 House for an Afternoon or Special Occasion Tea (Bridal Showers, Birthdays or Holidays). Choose to have your tea served in the library, the parlour, the dining room, the garden in summer, or by the fireside in winter.
