Lompoc Residents Deployed
Our
gratitude and thanks go out to Lompoc service members deployed
overseas. We are indeed praying for their safe return.
SSgt
Daniel Escobar, USAF
writes,
"I'm currently deployed to the South Pacific and representing
Lompoc. I grew up in Lompoc and graduated LHS in 1997. "
Joy Mack writes,
"Just wanted to let you all know Lompoc, CA is being represented
in Saudi and Kuwait. Pvt. Anwar Aalaam,
19, of Lompoc, Calif and
SrA Joshua Willden, 21, of Lompoc
are currently deployed to that part of the world. I hope every
one is praying for their safe return."

You
Know You're a
Lompoc
Native When...
...you
know what a Snowy Plover is!
-- by Kimalee Vargas
...you
remember that day the wind stopped... and everybody fell over.
-- courtesy of John and Vickie Dicus
of Rivenrock Gardens
...as
a kid, each time you went into Hall's Bakery, you got a free
sugar cookie.
-- courtesy of Dennis Headrick
...you
went to Stadley's Market across from the old airport (where
the Penney's Shopping Center began) with your family.
When
Mr. Stadley came out to help put the groceries in the trunk
of the car, some of our chickens were still sitting on the bumper,
having ridden the 7 miles or so with us! They laughed, put the
chickens in bags, and we took them back home... laughter filled
the car!
