Vandenberg Air & Space Show -- 2002

November 2 & 3
8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

The 2002 Vandenberg Air & Space Show may be the only event in the United States that brings the history of flight to life and highlights the future of flight in space. Hosted by the 30th Space Wing, the show is open to the public. Expected attendance is over 100,000 people.

Interactive displays will include flight simulators, space simulators, and full-scale NASA remote-controlled Sojourner robots (Mars Rovers). Tactical Demonstration Teams, fire-fighting, warbirds and acrobatic aircraft will perform, and the last flying Tuskegee Airmen aircraft will make its final event before retiring.

Main attractions include Viper West, an F-16 tactical demonstration team from Hill AFB (Utah), an F-18 Hornet tactical demo team from NAS (Lemoore, California), a demonstration by Wings of Blue, the Air Force Academy's parachute jump team, and a B-2 Stealth bomber fly-by.

Other attractions include Robosaurus, a 40-foot rocket crushing mechanical dinosaur, Brutus the Skydiving Dog, modern day and vintage aerial acrobatics, and a variety of military aircraft and commercial spacelift static displays.

The public is invited as special guests to this FREE event.

For more information, check out Vandenberg's Centennial of Flight website.
