...you know when you are a Lompocian when you can say Lompoc
correctly. Not Lampac.
...you remember the flag pole at H and Ocean.
...you remember W.C. Fields making his movies there.
...you have "The Bank Dick" memorized.
...you knew Charlotte Benton before she was mayor.
...you remember going to Jack's Omelets and overfilling yourself
after an hour's wait to get a table and then going back next
month and repeating the experience because they were so good.
...you remember eating Sundays at the Rice Bowl and loving
it.
...you remember watching Mission Hills become a ghost town
and then watching it fill up again.
...you remember eating Santa Maria Style BBQ and calling it
Lompoc BBQ.
...you remember walking at Ocean Park and being the only human
in sight.
You are too old to be alive if you remember the half-way-house
between Lompoc and Ocean Park. That was way before my time,
but a VERY interesting story which should never die.
Also a highlight was gin-chows almanac reproduced by the Lompoc
printers. I still have a rare copy.

...you know when Harley Craig was selling acres at Mesa Oaks,
and most people thought they were just sand dunes.

You
Know You're a Lompoc Native When...
...it's a cold gloomy day and you're wearing shorts.
...you remember when the transit would drop you off right
at your doorstep!
